Articulated Dump Truck, which is also commonly called the Yuke in the construction world, has a hinge between the cab and the dump box, but is clearly different from semi-trailer trucks in that the cab is permanent and not separable or added as an attachment. Steering is accomplished with the use hydraulic rams that pivot the cab entirely, rather than possible rack and pinion steering on the front axle.

The Articulated Dumper is incredibly adaptable to rough terrain but great distances of flat terrain cause problems and failures to the driveline.
These trucks made by manufacturers like Caterpillar, Komatsu, JCB and Liehberr are appreciated for their capacity to carry a much higher maintenance burden than most trucks.
